I just bought the bike took the carbs apart and cleaned them. When I take off the bike runs good until about 5000 rpm, then it sputters and it the same in all gears. It will rev up fine in neutral but under load 5000 rpm is max. Anyone have this problem?

Also the bike will leak fuel if the petcock is on pri.

sounds like one (or more) of your float valves are not closing. Could be several reasons: wore out/dirty float valve, stuck float, float level way too high...

As soon as you open the throttle, the jet needles come up and the leaky carb (or carbs) is flooding the cylinder. Hence the stumble.

Pull the plugs, see which one's sooty black. That will likely be your misbehaving carb.

If it's a stuck float, tapping the bowl with a butt end of a screw driver should get it to come back down. otherwise, carbs will have to come off again.

Did you knock-out the Emulsion Tubes and clean them ... and, flush-out the Main AIR Passage.

If the Emulsion Tubes are clogged the Intake Air Stream pulls-up raw Fuel from the Main Fuel Jet that is not atomized.

Under the right conditions, the Non-atomized stream of Fuel won't efficiently ignite in the Combustion Chamber.
    Theres too much Fuel
    Not enough Air
The Mixture is too Rich for a powerful burn and you don't make power.

Thanks, my 3rd carb float was high. Runs alot better may need to take them all apart to clean the main jet tubes.

    Yep!
You have to know that all the Air Metering Ports along the outside diameter of the Emulsion Tubes are wide-open and letting Air into the center of the Tube when the Diaphragm Piston rises and the Needle Valve is pulled-up opening them up for Air to blend-in with the rush-up of Fuel from the Main Fuel Jets.

Not only are they important for helping the Fuel up into the Intake Air Stream, but all the tiny Air Holes break-up the stream of Fuel and contribute to the overall Air~Fuel Ratio to make the Mixture burn right.

You're running the bike with it in the 'ON' position, right?
On PRI, you're dumping fuel to the carbs

Yes I run in the ON position, I only use PRI to fill the cards after being installed.

If I am light on the throttle the engine will take off, if go full throttle it does not go past 5k and sputters. Does anyone have the carb float height measured, mine are set at 19 to 20 mm.
