How many wires does my tach have..?

    I looked in my "free" online haynes manual. N as I can tell by the pics. Theres atleast "3 wires"!?! I'm lookin' 2 buy an aftermarket tach. N I need 2 figure out how many wires my bike has 2 figure out which tach I need 2 buy!?! Any input would be sweet!

    I'm sure "1" of u guys know my answer! Out of all u guys that have the XJCD out there.. Not 1 can hook me up!?! I need 2 buy my tach SOON.. I'm guessing my tach only has 2 wires. 1 for power n the other 4 a ground. But I need 2 know 4 sure..

    Probably 2 for lighting, 1 for the tach.

    The tach has three wires in one connector. Brown is +12v, Gray is tach signal from ignition coil, and Black is ground.
