Hi all. I'm not a big fan of the stock rear turn signals on my '85 Maxim. They stick out pretty far so I'd like to change them out to make the bike more streamlined. I'm curious what options are out there?

I'd like to stay with the stock mounting location, don't want to drill out the rear fender or anything.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

So, your are wanting to keep your actual signals but shorten the stems?

Well, I'd like to shorten the stems up to bring them in to the bike closer, but also find a new design for the signal itself...maybe something a little smaller in diameter. So I was wondering what others have done..if anything. I don't want to go anything wild...like flushmount or anything like that.

    Thanks.

I switched mine out with a set from a FJ. They bolted right up only had to change the wire ends. They are more streamed lined not square and blucky.

Mine are still stock but I've had the same thought. I would be interested in what you finally decide.

He lostboy, have a pic of your bike somewhere? I'd like to see how it turned out. From what year FJ did you get your hardware?

Saw a few photos of the FJ on the 'net with those signals. I like them alot better than the round style. Think I'll give it a try and let you know how it turned out.

I first shortened the stalks on mine, then went with aftermarket (from e-bay, which the person above so gratiously linked for you).
