Anybody else notice that with Firefox the new posts list kinda runs away from your mouse when you want to click on something? Is there a cure for this or should I dust off IE before visiting? :)

Are you talking about the home page where the recent posts are scrolling?

Yes, it acts as if you were scrolling it upwards. Don't 'chase' the post from bottom up, move in your mouse pointer from the top, down towards the one you wish to click. I'm a Firefox user, it's nicer and faster...

Hey thanks, SnoSheriff. You're right - it's easier if you don't chase it from the bottom. Firefox is great. I try to convert all my friends. It's faster, the tabbed browsing makes it much more convenient, and most malicious scripts don't bother it. When I have to use IE at work I'm always clicking on the mouse wheel to open a new tab, and it never works. :)

One reeeeaally nice thing about Firefox is that it has its own sandbox to play to in. That is, unlike Internet Exploder, it is not hooked into the operating system's kernel. So what does that mean? It means that when you hit a site with malicious code hidden in a link or image, the code probably won't be able to execute at all. In the few instances when it might manage to execute, chances are it won't do anything to your system because it does not have any of those hooks into the kernel.

I have a good relationship with the network people at school. Sittin' shootin' the bull one day a couple months ago, I learned that another student had brought in her laptop for help because it had slowed waaaay down. They cleaned it for and introduced her to Firefox. In cleaning it, they found some 245 malicious programs that had found their way into her box, thanks to IE.
