    Hi all,
I'm trying to get down to the point where I can really take a peek at the transmission components on the bike. Right now my work stoppage is on this 30mm nut inside the clutch basket. I attached a pic for reference. Is there a trick to getting it out? I have it in a gear (1st i think :/), and i have a board through the back wheel as to keep it from moving.

So how do I get this rascal off?

    8' breaker bar? :

manual says, lock the transmission, straighten the tab washer & unscrew the nut, you seem to have done most of this, so it's just tight, take 2 wheetabix & try again. Wiz.

Air inpact wrench will get it right off. Then sit back and enjoy a candy bar and admire your work. To heck with the health food.

You can buy Weetabix at grocers that have a "British" section

Tastes like Kelloggs corn flakes, but pressed into a biscuit.

If you can't find a 30mm socket in your town (like me), a 1-3/16" socket will fit it fine.

cheap way to lock the inner clutch basket is to use 2 old clutch plates, a steel one and one with the friction material on it, drill and bolt these together and it will lock the inner basket. Then all you need is that extra weetabix to get the bitch off.

+1 on air impact wrench... came right off on mine. My service manual also talks about a clutch holder tool that allows you to stop the basek from turning.

Clutch holder tool is a single plate with both outside 'tangs' and inside 'teeth' on the same piece, with a handle. If you have the old plates and have no more use, then screwing two together makes a great "holding tool."
