I joine this site abouta month ago when I purchased a 1981 650 Maxim that had been sitting outside for 10 years. I paid $500 for it and figured if I could get it running I'd have a gas saver to ride back and forth to work. About $300 later and alot of gleaning information and tips from you guys I took my first ride tonight! I'm hooked! Can't wait to ride to work in the morning. I've had many bikes since I was 9 years old, lost a 750 Virago in a divorce, this bike is sweet. It really moves!

Thanks to everyone on this site for all the help!

Cool! enjoy the ride. It's much more enjoyable to ride something that has your blood, sweat and tears dripped all over it, isn't it?

I think the xj650 is one of the best bike out there. Lots of power (at least for me) and low maintenance.

Thanks for the feedback, dhoover9. I often wondered how many bikes have been repaired by our assistance. Hearing the joy and excitement in your post makes it all worth it. Now, get out and ride that thing!
