    Hi All,

Has anyone tried to put a universal highway foot peg set on their Maxim-X?

I'm looking at MC Enterprises MC-358. It lists the Maxim-X as compatible, but the customer service rep at MC didn't sound too confident... Any other options? (aside from the official ones which are rare like hens teeth)

    1985 Maxim-X 750 (XJ750J - Canadian bike, same frame as US XJ700)

    Thanks,

    coreyinoz

Do you mean forward controlls or just highway pegs?

If you just want highway pegs than get some universal pegs and attach them to your crash bars... or get some crash bars, then some unversal pegs and attach them to your crash bars. ;)

Don't know much about the forward controlls, but I think it has been done on here a couple of times at least (not necessarily the brand you mentioned).

I'm really just interested in highway pegs. Using the stock controls isn't that much hassle, I just want to move my feet forward for long stretches...

I don't have crash bars. I think I'm just looking for foot pegs without crash bars if I can - unless crash bars happen to exist for reasonable cost.

    Thanks.

You should be able to get some crash bars for a decent price on here.
Throw out the question and see what happens.

This gets me thinking. Mounting some long highway bars direct to the frame....

Kuryakyn makes some very nice pegs off set and multiple size clamps that you can clamp to the frame and adjust to your liking. They aren't cheap but nice looking. I have been holding off putting them on my X as I think I want forward controls as well.

Has anyone tried the offset pegs bolted right on the frame?
Do they stick out past the engine enough?
