    Hi All!

Just curious, I’m getting ready to change the fuel filter on my XJ650J and was wondering how much petrol I should expect to spill as part of the process. I figured there will probably be some in the line and old filter to contend with but was curious how good a job the vaccuum-operated petcock does. Should I expect a slow leak of new fuel?

    Cheers!

If the pet cock is working properly and you have it set to on or reserve it should not leak at all.
You should loose just the fuel that you spoke of.
Don't have it set to prime or you will take a bath.

... and with fuel prices the way they are now, you'd probably be cheaper to go to the spa than bath in gas.
