lucky you!
My usual ride is a '95 Magna. I haven't tried to work on the carbs, everybody says it's a PITA so I kept far away from them ! The valve adjustment...
My friend came to my place this afternoon with his Virago. The kickstand switch works like a charm now, after two or three lubricant treatments....
That could be a real problem even if the bike isn't very heavy.
I'll report the success (or not) of my attempt, I doubt it is harder than a Goldwing 1200, but it could be !
THank you ! Actually it stalled when put in gear. I explained to my friend that he has to put the bike on the center stand first, then work the KS...
Hey guys, I haven't been here for several months due to some troubles in my relationship with my wife. Recently, a friend of mine who owns an...
Well I think there is difference between passively countersteering (intuitively) and actively contersteering, the second would give better results...
Must practice the art of counter-steering with that kind of bike. I rode two bikes in my life that weren't funny in the corners, both of them had...
Oh, I see !
You probably meant "tap", didn't you?
What is exactly Metal Rescue?
Thanks for sharing.
We got a fair 70 cm of snow in the last storm (pretty close to 30 inches, I guess), and it ain't finished yet. I use to shovel my parking spaces,...
Tabaka, are you saying that you did it after you put a rebuild kit in your petcock? Smallest socket, like 8 mm or even smaller?
I have the same problem. I rebuilt mine as per the process in the thread and it leaks when put on "ON".
Sounds like you're asking for a XXX video.
Makes sense, thanks !
I wonder what could have caused that ?
No, it seems to me that the flat parts of the handlebars up there don't align with the fork tubes down there.
Is it just me or the front forks aren't at the usual angle (to much towards the engine)?
I'm actually very interested in this thread because 2 out of three of my XJ900s tanks will need to be lined properly as a start point. I wonder if...
No kidding? Well ,I ask because the carb body looks like all chewed out around the shaft. Is that usual ?
What will you do to have it to seal properly from now on?
Nice job !
Dibbler, if you ever decide to disassembly your forks for maintenance and/or for some fixing, i'D be interested in seeing pictures because mine...
Possible, but if I remember well, Chacal himself told me they were good.
When I bought mine, the anti-dive was already disabled, the same way yours is (hoses removed and blanked). I wasn't happy with the way the forks...

Are you interested in the ones in USA, or the ones in Canada too?
Looking pretty good to me.
compressed air do wonders too, but one should be careful not to apply too much pressure, the piston can pop out like a bullet
Yep, they look a bit lean to me. Even if you clean the electrode of an old plug, it won't perform as well as a new one. I'd personally change...
This is a 1975 Standard XS650 tank, the big tank, compared ot the smaller Special tank. I have a similar one in my shed (1976).
Are these plugs right for your model?
An interesting benefit of this kind of seat is you may rest your weary head between your backseat passenger's knockers on long trips, if both...
For sale in Ontario , obviously ! I can't figure how to edit the title... Not mine:...
Sorry, didn't mean to offend anybody, I would have said I find it horrible, if someone likes it, that's fine.
Which one?
My God, that seat looks horrible !
all right, thank you guys
The bike matches the fence, lol !
Because the stroke is shorter ?
Hogfiddles wrote a nice an useful thread about fuel tank interchangeability. Now I have a question about header pipes interchangeability between...
I feel you, I would hardly resist to an XJ900 ad in my neighborhood (specially with a good fuel tank), even if I already own three of them.
Is lectern the right word in English for a music sheets stand ?
With the air cooled XJs it is important to run a big fan in front of the bike during the process. The engine has to be fully warmed up before you...
Here are the three sync screws.
Lawnmower fuel tank for me !
You won't need anything to be connected there while sinc'ing because if you put the petcock selector on PRIME, the fuel will be gravity fed, then...
