Knuckles, how much for the headlight brackets? Ship to Pennsylvania.
I think it's OK to ship a tank as long as it's been thoroughly cleaned out . Knuckles, how much do you want for the 650 Seca tank? We're talking...
Just saw this while perusing CL ... very nice turbo bike if you're looking for one. Not mine. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/mcy/5325534105.html
So I've got a spare gas tank but no key ... No idea if VIN or key #. How can I get the gas cap off?

Saw this in my eBay feed ... looks a little rough, but mostly unmolested....
Nice 650 Seca!
That cleaned up up motor is NICE.
Technically, you MIGHT be able to take the float bowls off without removing the carbs, but I think all the wizards on this site will give you $hit...
Probably not this, but is the enrichment circuit in carb bowl base REALLY clean? Here is a post that covers it xjbikes.com/Forums/vie...60246.html
I had similar starting problems on my 82 650 Seca even after cleaning the carbs, and it was because I did not get the enrichment circuit...
That is one sweet ride, nice work. You should submit to bikex or pipeburn.
Thanks for all the info, was able to repair and it's back on the road again!
Moose, thanks for the info. So when I look into the end of the plug boot, it appears to have a nail, right. So, if I just cut off a small amount...
On my 82 Seca 650 with 42k miles, it was running bad and I noted two of the exhaust pipes were cold even though new spark plugs just installed....
My bike specs call for a 120/90 18 tire on the back of the 650 Seca. That size seems hard to find. Any thoughts on putting a Bridgestone...
Wow, that's nice .... looks like a lot of time was spent on it, but the results were worth it. Here's the other XJ website I mentioned...
Liking the 900 in the background ... how about a few pix?
The lights are out on both speedo & tach of my 650 Seca have gone out, all other lights on the bike are working. Before I start ripping crap...
Don't do it .... you'll regret it later. So easy to work on, cheap antique plates and insurance. Plenty of parts from chacal. What more could...
Nice ride, I have a silver XJ650, check out the link to the pic in my signature. Looks great in red. You have a true classic there. You can...
Same here. I'm thankful for this site ... I don't think here are are many/any other Japanese bikes with such a devoted and knowledgable...
Well, I forgot to mention I had the calipers off, but still can't ease out the pads. Will keep trying. Thanks for the suggestions.
Have a new set of EBC FA34's for my 82 Seca, but I can't get the old pads out. I did remove the small retaining screw, and then carefully, using...
Fitz, I'm guilty og using part syn MC oil and at one time car oil. Have I done permant damage?
Gotta agree with that. Get a set of Denali lights! http://www.twistedthrottle.com/brand/denali/
92 Seca 650, 42k miles, carbs rebuilt 2 yrs ago, owned since new For a long time, when I hit the starter button, there is a pause, and then the...
Unreal. Like how the car driver checks out his car first.
It's not speed that kills, it's the SUDDEN deceleration that does it ...
The 550 is a beautiful bike. Post a picture.
Looks good in this color http://www.google.com/imgres?q=1982+yam ... ,s:0,i:212
That is one SWEET ride!!!!
It's not speed that kills, it's the deceleration.
Nice ... keep in that way!!!!
OK, Fitz, I'll give them a try. According to their fitmennt chart, I need a medium, which is strange, because I take large in all other gloves....
Merc, thanks for the info. Wish I knew if the Acerbis would (or could be made to) fit my bike. Those look pretty nice, but a little expensive.
Nice work. While customizations are nice, it's good to see one restored back pretty close to stock. I've got an all stock 650 Seca I've owned...
Looks great! I think the 650 Seca is the best looking of the Seca line. I have one I've owned new since 82. Not sure if anyone else asked, but...
Look great, might have to try that on mine! Like others, wish we could hear what they sound like.
Just got back from a 45 minute ride in 40 degree temps, and since I don't own any heated gear, wondering if anyone has fitted a pair of plastic...
Good for you, but I could not have cut up a bike that looked so good to start with.
Nice solution, thanks for the tip. I'm gonna do the same.
Nice resto/customizing job! I've got an XJ650 that I've owned from new, so it's all stock, but I like what you've done.
I have an XJ650RJ. Have seen 82/83 Seca Turbo rotors on eBay at decent prices. Anyone know if they will fit my 82 without modifications? Thanks.
OK, so I've put Mobil 1 synth non-motorcycle specific oil in two of my bikes, and did not notice any clutch slip. Am I doing any harm to the bike...
Why don't they make bikes like that anymore? Closest think recently was the Kawi XR1200.
Welcome. There are not many other sites that have a following like this. You'll have no problem finding parts.
That's gonna be nice when you're done ... I always liked the midnite special models. Back in the 80's a buddy at work offered to sell me his near...
What's the bike under cover in the background???
I did ask Ron at www.ronh.org about his bikes, and he said the 650R will go up on eBay some day.
