Made some room
@k-moe I have an extra key. Send me your address in a conversation and I can get it mailed off to you.
It’s model number SKB HC27B. I found them anywhere from about $7 each to about $51 each. These are stamped with FRANZEN on the reverse. The screws...
I found a source for a new latch. Matches VERY close. Best part, the holes even matched up. For comparison [ATTACH] As installed [ATTACH]
For some reason I am told the photo doesn’t show. It shows on mine. Let’s try again. [ATTACH]
Rode my bike to work today for the first time this season. Normally a 30-40 minute commute, half on the interstate. Beautiful day! Planned an...
I have the complete touring pack including side cases and trunk for a XJ750R SECA. One of the latches is broken. If anyone has cases that are...
Rode out to pick up and installed the trunk that I had a new seat pad fabbed. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
A latch for the luggage that came with the full set 750 SECA touring package. Like this: [ATTACH]
Had a new seat pad fabbed for the Trunk-box on my 750 SECA. Can’t wait to get it installed! [ATTACH]
Does anybody have info or a good image of what the backrest pad on the factory touring package for a 1982 XJ750R SECA is supposed to look like? I...

Nice pick up, Joe.
Been a while since I posted. Had to replace the battery this week. The stupid thing is only two friggin years old! One cell was dry; don’t know...
I replaced my brake lines from Chacal here @XJ4Ever. Already to length with the proper angles already on the banjo fittings. IMO, the only ones...
Took apart and cleaned a spare petcock to prepare for rebuild and restore my Seca back to original petcock. Now to order parts from the only place...
Very nice find! I have an 82 that is nearly the same, as pictured in my avatar. Keep the updates coming.
Thanks for pointing that out. Could give some bargaining power. Are the headers supposed to be black? Also, I noticed a dent in the top of the...
A nice looking, 1982 XJ650 SECA near me. Tempting! Looks original. I know these don’t come around often....

Wow! Nice job of putting it all back together.
Center handlebar emblem? Nice. That is a true rarity. Dang, you even have the locking chain! Bet the tool bag is still there too.
Way to go! Glad you got it.
If you're trying to post links or pics, you need a minimum of 5 posts.
Nice haul there! Some difficult to find pieces.
Those gauges look clean! You are buying the touring fairings and boxes, and the bike comes with it. You could probably get almost what the whole...
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Both nice looking machines!
1. Installed my new windshield! I felt there was supposed to be some sort of gasket or something on the lower portion where it attaches to the...

I predate my '82 XJ by 16 years.
I keep reading that the exhaust needs to be removed in order to remove the oil filter on oil changes. Is this unique to just some XJ's? I am able...
Great score! Fill us in on the details.
That stinks!! Happy you came through with minimal harm. Best wishes on coming to a resolution on getting the bike back to where it was. It's a...
Rifle makes a fairing/ windscreen that fits the Seca. http://rifle.com/Nightflight-Fairing-for-Rectangular-Headlight-P1905.aspx
Not too far from me..... Don't think I need two. Looks like a Texas license plate. The sticker on the headlight might indicate an auction item.
Not anymore. Seems to have expanded, i.e. rusted.
So it would be bad to fill that hole in or cover it? Seems as they had gotten bigger over the years.
Just start a conversation through this site. (Click on Chacal's avatar or username). He will get back to you. You won't be disappointed in the...
"The Emperor" At least he admits that he is "asking more than it's worth"....:p http://desmoines.craigslist.org/mcy/6331157377.html
The touring fairing is the larger one and mounts to brackets attached to the frame and is fixed; i.e. it does not move with the bars.
That is one sharp looking bike! Mechanics complete to boot!
That IS a nice specimen. Better suited for the museum in current condition though. Not sure that price-tag is warranted.
The brakes do NOT run off the same oil as the forks. The 750 Secas do have anti-dive units which are controlled by the brake system. They...
Glad you kept safe! Damper rod bolt in the bottom of the fork should be removed. I made the mistake of not doing this first on one of the tubes....
A few bargains: http://desmoines.craigslist.org/mcy/6310100703.html A SECA "900" with a 750 engine. http://omaha.craigslist.org/mcy/6300770437.html
Not really concerned with appearance at this point. It is down low, partly hidden under the middle exhaust collector shield. The hole is between...
I was afraid someone was going to say that. Options for replacing? I kind of perused the bay and did not find much in decent condition without...
I have this hole at the base of the right-side silencer on my XJ750 SECA. It appears that there had been a previous repair with some sort of...
From your avatar, it looks like you have a 750 SECA, is this correct? Are the forks out of the triple tree? Are the anti-dive actuators still...
