    Should my XJ900 -83 have a system to prevent to drive away , with the sidestand lowered. Or is the bike simply to old for that kind of technique?...

    Fluid assited clutch?

    There is no problem with the Cable : runs/feels nice when disconnected. I have run the bike about 187 miles now and the clutch does not bother me...
