Probably an air leak somewhere, check around the boots between carb/engine.
I purchased two of these and they look great and work. I put my old wiring harness in them though because I didn't like the dual filament...
Oh crap I saw the title of the thread when googling my problem and it didn't specify seca or maxim. Yes, my response is for the Seca.
Just an update to this thread for anyone google searching. I was on the phone with a dunlop rep the other day and they no longer carry the 130 for...
I'm about to try that during my lunch break and see what happens. I'm almost due for an oil change anyway. No sweat there on the exhaust removal,...
Is that a maxim? Sorry for my noobness. I'm only asking because you have disc brakes on the back instead of drum brakes like my 82' XJ750r SECA
I hate to resurrect an old thread but this is exactly what I'm experiencing now. I had been filling until the bubble was all the way to the top of...
Thank you guys! This is plenty information to get me going.
Man nice snag! Wish it was mine :P
I'm sure I saw a thread on here at one point about an instrument cluster/atari teardown guide. My RPM needle has been going crazy for a bit and...
Ahh you may find someone that wants all of them, but most of us just need one. A Kerker for the one I need would be a bit pricey :)
Does that red right cover have the tabs?
I just started investigating this after getting a 3d printer in our office. I'd need a bigger print bed, all the cheaper printers have small print...
Not very much if you get it from harbor freight, but the quality of the tools is not there. You can either invest in good tools, or get harbor...
Never have seen this tool before. Very cool!
Is there a way to fix the broken tab?
Noticed there haven't been any carb clinics or anything in texas since 2010. Wondering if any of you guys are still here or am I the only one now :O
Nah there is nothing wrong with going to 3rd as long as you have enough speed from 1st.
Still looks better than my sort-of stock XJ :P
Take it easy on some back roads. Find different routes that do not have so much traffic. It is VERY nerve racking to ride in traffic when you...

We've all been there at some point. In fact I'm still working on my XJ getting it right. This is my first bike and first foray into bike mechanics...
You just remove the 8 bolts that attach it to the engine, and the 2 bolts that hold the rear of the exhaust up.
XJ750RJ Seca
As the title states I'm looking for a right side battery cover for a 1982 xj750. Must be whole and in good condition.
This thread peaked my interest because the ones on ebay for my bike have missing plastic clips and are absurdly expensive for being broken.
Bike is nicer than mine at first glance. I think it's well worth the $1500 he is asking.
Yes the idle screw is all the way out. Thanks for the pics! So should I verify my butterflys are similar to pic #1 at idle?
Donated via membership just now. Glad this conversion is in progress.
Thanks! I just wanted to rule out my butterfly setting.
I just rebuilt my carbs including throttle shaft seals and still having a high idle issue. My boots look good, and I'm wondering how far open the...
We should probably fix the images little by little and self host them here starting with the most popular threads.
Thank you for that information. Could I put some thread sealant on these to prevent fuel coming out of the port?
Ebay:China It's just barely even a drop that comes out at a time, but it adds up and becomes visible. Ok I'll scrap the idea haha.
Just to be sure the levels are always correct? :) Not sure if that is necessary, or how often these carbs get out of tune. I suppose you could put...
I have the new flat head ones that came in the carb rebuilt kit. The problem is that if I loosen them just a tiny bit fuel will leak out where the...
I saw a thread on here the other day where some guy had a white xj750 with K&N pods. He had his fuel levels visible at all times and clipped onto...
Just an update. 1/4” inner diameter from another store worked. Guess that first hardware store gave me the wrong thing
Turns out it’s bigger than 1/4” Poly tubing. Will try next size up when I can get back to the hardware store.
Thank you! I'll pick some up during my lunch break.
I could do everything down to balancing and putting on my own tires, but then I wouldn't have time to ride or enjoy my other hobbies. I'd just...
Yes I had them remove the tires from the bike.
Wow. I spent $500 just getting new tires put on my bike! $200 labor, $250 tires, $50 in taxes and disposal fees. I've ordered all the parts I need...
I had just changed the oil and it's obvious that some gas went into the crank case as my oil level went up :(.... time to change it again. Thanks...
So I rebuilt my carbs, even replaced throttle shaft seals. I’ve taken them on and off the bike several times during rebuild. Prior to rebuild...
I was using the idle knob. The throttle was not stuck. I rebuilt the carbs and the high idle issue went away. Now I have other questions that I’ll...
Oh ok thank you very much for your help! I’ll go buy some of those hex nuts and see what it is :)
Ahh ok. How do I accurately measure my banjo bolt thread size and pitch?
I'm interested in what you are saying here. That sounds like exactly what I need. I do not want to go back to stock because I've already purchased...
I don’t know what to search for or where to buy it. I need to buy a xj750 aftermarket front brake lever assembly with sensor. I purchased...
