Now that you had it on PRIME for so long, make sure there is no gas mixed with your oil.
It is a good idea to bleed the brakes and replace the break fluid every time you replace the pads. Like bigfitz says "just hook up a bleeder hose."
It takes about 5 minutes to warm up mine. Don't forget, it is air cooled and if not riding it, no air is cooling it down. If you are just idling...
