Quite a few XJ750s in perth have police heritage. Non curved wheels are the easiest thinkg to spot.
Didn't include the pump, as it would impede selling it overseas. Shouldn't need a police spec alt if you use a Honda Rincon style pump.
Moving on from unfinished projects. Custom made manifolds to suit XJ750. Modified (Spaced apart) Yamaha FZ6R 2009 throttle bodies to suit....
Bike is now for sale.
If you are happy to sent the dead tci downunder, I could check and diagnose it for you. I have done this before in a thread for the user...

If the coils are 3 ohm, then at 12 volts they would in theory draw 4 amps each. At 14 volts they will draw 4.6 amps and at 15 volts it would be 5...
My XJ is soooo reliable that I Yawn at your thread.
There is a reason for covering up; [img]
14.75 volts should not kill the TCI. Have you a pic of the internals on the burnt out TCI? Some areas connect to power and some switch the...
I could have a look at then if you want to send them down under? Prevoiusly; http://www.xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic ... t+tci.html
All the changes I have seen to convert miles to kilometers has been a fascia change not a calibration change. If the odo is binding, you have a...
Just a thought, if you are judging jets by their numbers, make sure they are not drilled out from original.
The connectors are just weatherpack and then a standard quick connect for the ignition switch. The mini connectors are standard for the Koso...
Wasn't today, it was last week :( [img]
I like it, looks good so far.
I would retension after the first warm up and then after 1,000kms. Mine certainly pulled up quite a bit after the first heat cycle, remember...
If the starter spins but does not turn the engine why rebuild it?. Sounds like starter clutch.
When I went to dyno my 750 the dyno guy looked up the specs for it and came up with 82hp and said we would be lucky to see much over 50 at the...
From memory the gsxr throttle bodies only fit the spacing for a 700, not a 750. Certainly they were not a plug and play option for my 750 seca.
All you need is a transistor, although one with current control would be nice. 2 Old J121 modules off mitsubishis will work.

Why didn't you just check to see if the light had gone out after you drained the oil instead of removing it?
Although the brake cleaner is a good idea in some ways, it is going to end up in the sump which will dilute the oil.
The Seca oil switch works the wrong way around. Closed when you have oil. Any other switch will work correctly.
Celebrating 10,000 miles (16,000klm) since getting Pumba on the road.
My project is not dead yet. I have been busy sorting out my junk and recreating a work area. Finally cleared my backlog of repair promises...
Which version of Microsquirt? By memory the newest one requires you to use a ignitor to switch the coil. I will dig through the info if you like?
You need to remove the tensioner first. Shop manual may save you making some basic errors. You have determined the valve timing is actually...
Do you have a diagram for the switch? Or any coding for the wires?
damn you, I replied to an April fool bumped post.
I am very impressed and would love to see pictures. When I had a crankcase split I went through the motions of doing the job you just did, but...
$290? Holy cow! Most TCI units just need the electrolytic capacitors replaced and a full resolder of every connection. On occasion you may...
Resolder the circuit board and replace every electrolytic capacitor and she will be jake mate!
I rewound mine to suit a different dash. I would class it as repairable, depending on your skills. Done any fine electrical work before?
Have you tried starting in gear holding the clutch in? (be prepared to lurch forward and take off). Does the clutch fell normal when you pull...
The tach connection goes to the coil negative, not positive.
I'm happy to pay that for just the throttle bodies. No need for the old electronics though.
I don't use a cable, I just hold up the choke rod linkage by hand on the right hand side for the 10-20 seconds I need it in winter.
Di it run perfectly before you changed the exhaust and went to pods? If yes, then play with the jets. If it had other problems, you will chase...
The Yoshis are cast pistons, I have a Wiseco forged set but I am short some rings for the Wisecos and I ran low on time. After 3,000klms the...
I am running the Yoshimura version of this kit. Yes there are performance gains, BUT it does have more vibration than I expected. No large temp...
Welcome to the modification learning process. And yep, I meant 650 turbo. Caliper mount points are different on different forks.
Yes it would work, but one issue with this idea is the fact that you still have a restriction at the venturi. I tried a few ideas along these...
oops, just got your message. My upgrade followed the footsteps of another member on here, OOTFAB. Both the caliper mounts and wheels are...
Fitting a car manifold? Other than a few rare models, most Jap cars since the late 60s ware all water cooled. Most of the manifolds are...
Hooks onto the M8 studs holding the head to the barrels. Seemed to be more than strong enough when I rolled the engine along uneven ground....
No. The TCI switches the coil negative to ground, repeatedly. The positive is hard wired so it is not possible for the TCI to change the polarity....
I posted this a while ago in another thread: [img] [img] [img] [img] There is room for evolution.
The coils should be fine, just make sure the pickups and cutter wheel is the same. Leave the alternator as is it should plug and play. The advance...
