I have a 1980 xj650, I've had it for a few years. i got it running from previous owner, ignition coils went out on me and i haven't had time to work on it ( its been sitting for a good year or so now ). I need help on how i should price the bike, I've never sold a bike and I'm still kinda new to bikes.

    Needs some electrical done
    Needs new tires
Needs front brake to be redone
No speedometer ( the one i have doesn't work )
Needs new plug wires, caps, and ignition coils
    Custom pipes
    new starter
A bunch of spare parts ( lights, fenders, seat, side covers, extra headers, stock exhaust, stock speedometer, stock seat, saddle bag, and a bunch of other msc. parts )
    Rear fender has been chopped
    Needs to be painted
    Some rust in gas tank

I think it would be a good project bike to start from ground up, any help on how i should price it or what it seems to be worth?

Ill try to get photos on here soon, it won't let me upload at the moment.

Not running? Prepare to sell it for not a lot ($200- $400 depending on cosmetics)
Runing, can sell for a lot more.

Have you tested the coils to be sure that's the problem?

+1. Baseline for running Classic bikes with decent cosmetics (everything intact) usually go for $1 per cc unless you live in a seller friendly location.
