I'm selling my baby, which is an '81 Yamaha XJ650 that has been my project for the past 1.5 years or so. The bike runs pretty good, I've been riding it for a year this month. It has a couple little flat spots that could use some fine-tuning, but it has never let me down, and has been a very reliable bike.

It has a about 1500 miles on the front tire, and not too much more on the rear. The front brake pads and wheel bearings are new. It has a Mac 4-2 taper-tip exhaust on it (sounds great, not too loud), and pod air filters. I have modified it to look more like a cafe-style bike by shortening the rear fender, putting a set of Seca handlebars on, lowering the headlight and gauges, blacking out most of the chrome, and replacing the stock turn signals with small cat-eye signals.

Now, the bike is definetly not perfect, but like I said, I've been riding it alot, last fall I rode it almost every weekend. The main things it needs is a front brake line (this one is cut, not leaking, but it will probably in the future, it's been like this ever since I put it on), the left turn signal does not work (the right one works fine), and the front forks could use rebuilding (they are very mushy).

If you want a good rideable bike to get you going this summer, and don't mind putting a bit of work into it yourself, this is the bike for you!!! All the work needed can be easily fixed yourself with the help of a repair manual, which is readily available. Only reason I'm selling is because I just don't have the time to ride anymore, and want to fix up the CX500 Honda that I just got.

Easiest way to get ahold of me is through e-mail since I don't have time to check the boards much anymore.
