    im confused the vin says i have a 700 but the side covers, i have say maxim 650 the maxim is only on side cover plastic but the 650 is on the seperate chrome part also from reading threads the 650 maxim came with only one front brake caliper right ? if so i think what i have is a 650 im gonna post a few pics of parts i have these are photos from another site they are not original photos of the parts sorry but don't have a camera to get originals

    Do you have the header down tubes? I have a 82 xj650. Mine are in need of replacing. The guy I got the bike from painted everything black. I was hoping he didnt do it properly on the chrome parts...........But he DID. I took the paint off, and the chrome is badly scratched. It almost looks like he used 100 grit sand paper. If you dont, dose anybody in here know if I can maybe polish this out. I tried to clean them up, but they look like badly scratched stainless steal or something. Anyhow, thanks for any and all help.

    Hey, do you still have the choke cable? Anyone know if it will fit on a 550? How much do you want for it?

    this bike has been parted out and all parts are sold or pending payment if some one backs out ill contact next in line and see if they want the parts
