When I replaced the rear tire on my xj, the drive shaft came out with the hub, and now I have the damndest time getting it back into the u-joint, does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to reinstall the drive shaft?

you did it the hard way, but anyhow. the splines should have a spring in a groove, that has to pop into the u joint. hold it in then hit it with the heel of your hand.
grease it up real good first

Yep. Lube it, and then stick it in the hole.
