OK folks I've survived Dolly came through it with little or no damage. Thanks for the well wishes.

I have a new question this time about the handle bars. Since my bro kissed the pavement the handle bars were bent. The handle bars are not what I have seen on the internet which have been two seperate bars connected to the top of the steering tree. Mine are 7/8 inch bars but I can't determine length, rack or "pull back"? Any way I am needing to replace them since I've been told it is not a good "safe" idea to try to straighten these out.

    Please help.

    here's how they measure them
if their not bent too bad you can try to bend them back, but i never had much luck, they get close but not right

1983 XJ750 bars are 1-piece, "buckhorn" similar to what most of the XJ models use. The have a bit of a "rise" and lots of "pullback".

1982 XJ750 Maxim bars are the two squared, individual handles, infinitely adjustable.

They don't really interchange with each other, due to the difference in the upper steering bracket.

I should have a good used (un-bent) set of 1983 bars if that's what you're in need of.

if you're replacing 7/8" tubular bars you have a WIDE variety of choices. Just remember that anything too radically different from stock may require a shorter or longer clutch cable and/or upper front brake hose.
