1985 maxim xj700 low beams

    I have a '85 maxim and the low beams do not turn on. I changed the bulb out and that did not help. The high beams go off if I flip the switch to low. Can anyone tell me where I should start looking (with locations as I do not have any manuals) to track down this problem? Thank you

    start tracing wires in the birds nest behind the headlight. I'd also suggest picking up the XJCD or look for a manual. If you're gonna do much more than change the oil yourself... a service manual is your most important tool.
