Hey guys, I've got my bike running great for the new season to start here but I've been looking to see if I could replace my mufflers with something a little different. I've heard a lot of things on the forums saying that you could use slip-ons for a Sportster 1200, Honda 919, or even 20" truck exhaust tips. I intend on keeping my original mufflers but I'd like to see what kind of sound I could get out of my bike and maybe spruce up its looks along the way. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It will always sound like an inline four. You can alter the tone, but there is usually a perfomance penalty to pay if you go too far in either direction.

Honestly my problem is, and I'm afraid of being crucified just for saying it, I just want the bike to be a bit louder. I ran out of gas one time going up the highway and the wind noise was so loud that I didn't even hear the bike die. I am thinking about going with a Bassini bolt-on because really so long as I don't alter anything before my h-pipe I shouldn't need to re-tune much.
