1997 Yamaha SECA 2 XJ 600 Carburetor synch questions. Can I leave the tank on or will this cause vacuum issues? I was getting carbs 1 -3- 4 to synch but 2 would not synch and kept staying way off and pulling to low vacuum. I unhooked the synch tool and the bike would not idle correctly and kept surging. I tuned it in by ear but would like to use the tool to get it done 100 percent correct. Any ideas or help. Im using a cheap Ebay synch tool.
    Thx

I had a Seca 2 I cannot recall if it has a vacuum line to the petcock if it does and goes to number 2 to connect synch tool you would have this line disconnected, you would need to put petcock to PRI . One thing to check is to make sure the carb clamps are tight . Also carb boots can crack make sure there are none , you can coat with black RTV to seal them. Yes you can leave tank in place tipped up at back ...I use a block of wood .
