My bike is idling way too high. I use the clutch to settle it at red lights. This needs to stop. It's idling at 2500 clutch open.

    Please help.

This topic should be posted in XJ Chat so it receives more views. This area is designed for technical write ups. I would suggest that you ensure your choke is completely disengaged and that the cable is operating fluidly. Next, examine the main idle adjustment screw located near the bottom of the carburetor (large rusty screw in photo). To lower the idle turn the screw counter clockwise. To raise the idle rotate it clockwise.

For starters, re-post in "XJ Chat."

We'll need to know which bike, a little bit about your history with it, and any modifications to the intake (POD FILTERS) or exhaust.

To be uber-helpful, add that info to your signature. And put some basic location info in your profile.
