Anyone tried fabricating a 4>2 system using stock headers without collector box? Kind of along the lines of a 4>1 Mac...

Ya skillet if you look in my gallery I did that. I actually used a mac 4-1 header. I cut the pipes and turned them to go to each side it worked really good. I used 2 1/2 inch exhaust pipe to collect and built some baffles to try to be un-noticed by the police.

All that's needed is a pair of Y-collectors 1-1/4" from the headers to the mufflers. Anything's possible.

skillet don't know how soon you're looking to get started but I'm doing the same thing. I just ordered some bends and tubing to do this to mine. I'll have pics and a short write up on my build thread when I get to it.

    Looks like another winter project!
I like the idea of the 2-into-1 conversion for each side of the bike, but I would put some turn-outs on the ends of the mufflers so the hot exhaust wouldn't blow right at the rear tire. But now that I think about it, it would interfere with my center stand and I like using it too much.
