750 Computer Question

    There are several instrument clusters from 1981 Seca 750s on eBay. The instrument layout is different, but can I pull just the computer out and use it in the 1982? Has anyone tried something like this?

    Looks like one of them is going to go for about $80. Also questionable whether they even work, but one thing at a time.

    Is it feasible? Or does the computer have to come from the exact model year?

    Yamaha parts fiche shows 81 and 82 use the same part number PCB.
