    Hi All,

I have some unobtainium - the luggage mounting brackets for a 750 Seca. I am asking $250. A set of these is about as rare as hen's teeth. Seca Luggage Brackets 2.jpg Seca Luggage Brackets 3.jpg Seca Luggage Brackets.jpg .

Not wanting to burst bubbles, but the brackets regularly list on e-bay and craigslist for $30-$50. Several sets come up for sale every few months.

You must be looking at something else. You won't find these. If you do a search on this forum you can see how I fabbed a set for my own luggage and the reason is because these never come up. Many members asked for my plans (which I freely gave them) and I even offered to fab them up if they needed help. I included pictures along with my posts detailing how I went about the project in order to be a help to the members here. Try searching this forum for the last time a set of these came up for sale.

I assure you that I am not looking at something else. (This is not my listing, nor do I know the seller).

There have been no fewer than four other listings for the OEM Seca 750 luggage rack in the past six months. Many of them get relisted, and the price lowered, before they sell.

While rare, I do not think that these brackets are rare enough to warrant spending $250 on.

Now if you had the luggage to go with the rack, that would be a whole other story. Undamaged luggage is rarer than hen's teeth (particularly the panniers).

Neither one of those are complete sets - besides that - what is it to you? What if you were trying to sell something and I jumped into your post and said it is not worth what you are asking? This is not how we deal with each other on a forum. Like the saying goes - if you don't have something nice to say - don't say it. If you want to buy it fine - let's make a deal. If not - why would you comment? On a forum we try to help each other - not hurt each other. As I said, in the past I have gone out of my way to be a benefit to the folk on this forum. Search my posts here. I do not go out of my way to hurt others. Please refrain from posting anymore. It is not your place to put a value on my property. You're not even wheeling and dealing with me - that would be different. You've already "helped me enough". I am asking you to please not "help" me anymore.

I got my trunk and saddlebags now, just gotta do some smoothing of some scratches and then repaint. Once I locate the mounting bracket set that I want, I'll get them put on. I need to find fairing lowers....I'm having a tough time finding them. Saw one pair on ebay but that's the only ones I've seen and I couldn't get them at the time. At least I can put the fairing on, though. It'll be a full dress 750 seca.

I always welcome comments and criticisms of my posts/ threads. I made a fair comment, and I stand by it.

Maybe k moe was trying to help the guy with an 82 seca who may have been interested in luggage for his bike but didn't know crap all about rarity of parts for his bike! edit: (Hey, that's me!) I'm not getting bags for my bike yet, gotta get it started first, but I did get some info here. Thanx to you both. Does anybody have pics of the bags mounted on a Seca? Do they just pop off when you don't want them on? I like stuff, and there's currently not much room for stuff on my bike!

The bags bolt on, and are not easily removable. I imagine that a creative person could figure an alternative method for mounting them (clamping knobs perhaps).

hogfiddles - if you need the brackets make me an offer - you're not gonna hurt my feelings and the worst that can happen is that I come back to you with a counter. This is how the game is played. I also have a set of damaged lowers that you could either fiberglass and use or you can use them to make plaster molds and recast them. Let me know.

I was referring to myself! Original post edited to make this more obvious. I was trying to thank him for saving me some bux, without offending original poster!
Was actually interested in the luggage cuz I'm gonna have some empty space once my sissy bar comes off, but I want something removable. I view Mr Moe as one of the gurus around here. Plus I love his avatar! The Dude abides, man. The Dude abides.

Matt - when I fabbed up my luggage mounting bracket - I made it so that the side luggage can easily mount and dismount with some plastic knobs. Pretty simple really. Search up some of my posts here and you will see a step by step I did of how I made my brackets and it shows how I mounted my side bags. If you can't find it let me know and I will snap a couple of pics for you later.

hogfiddles - I will post a couple of pics a little later of the lowers. The left side is pretty good but the right side is cracked and melted. I took a hit last year to the right side. I was carted off in an ambulance and the engine was still running so it melted the lower where it had been pushed into the engine.

You can see in the right side pic that it bent my crash bar, dented the muffler, and destroyed the right side luggage. But I have found everything I need to put her back together one more time. I have a new (used) muffler, crash bars, and luggage along with two new lowers.

So if anyone is interested I have a left side luggage, tail trunk, front fairing with bracket and rear taillights to accommodate the luggage - let me know. I will put up pics of that stuff in the future. But I'm telling you right now, of all this stuff that I have found, the real treasure is the luggage bracket if you want to keep everything original. When I was trying to add the touring package to my bike I looked for over six months to find a set and never did. That's why I fabbed up my own. And I know my experience is not unusual.

I found the front fairing and the rear luggage - but never a complete set with the bracket. I like mine way better so I don't want or need this set but if you want to keep your bike all original - here's your chance.

After my accident I happened on a complete touring package that I bought so that's how I came to have this bracket set.

Like I told Kmoe - I have found bits and pieces but never a complete set.

Oh yeah ... not to mention that when the luggage blew up in the accident it ripped my freshly covered seat!

I spent an hour or so reading his old posts yesterday, and know what I learned? His name is not MICro, it's MIRco! The only reason I noticed it is cuz he points it out in one thread. Really says something about what we read vs. what is actually there! I assume there's a lesson there about me paying more attention or something, but I missed it!

I know it is.... It's a typo due to this stupid auto-correct feature, and I didn't catch it.
