    I am looking to buy a 78 sx 650, the engine is making a top end noise sounds like the timing chain needs to be tighten.
    Is there a way to tighten this cam chain?
    any info would be helpful before I would make the purchase

    Cam chain tensioner is a problem area on this bike. Try www.650rider.com and see what they tell you there. It might not be a hard fix.
