The plugs are running lean and white on 1 and 4 .... 2 is sooted and 3 is tan. The colortune ... I am getting light blue on 1... dark sparking but no yellow or blue on 2. 3 is blue with yellow intermittent and 4 is dark blue. This is all occuring at 1000 1200. The bike has new coils from dynatek and the plugs are stock ngk. The rpm's continue to be slow in falling and their seems to be no air leaks according to the propane test. The slides n throats have been oil sanded to 1200 and then buffed with jewelers rouge and clunk like a champ. I have removed the idle screws and the choke assy to clear those passages. They were bench synched using the carb holes at the top and checked with the sticks. They balance perfectly. I think my issue is in the idle/pilot adjustment circuit but am at a lose as to what to clean/tweek/insert dynamite into next.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Art and his almost great bobber.

I pulled the carbs back apart and using the ear cleaning bulb and CRC brake cleaner flushed out the passages. I then while I had the carbs out covered the intakes and cranked over the engine and found carb 1,2,4 held a vacuum but #3 didn't. I resealed #3 and synch and colortuned. I think I am finally happy with the performance of the bike.

you really have the answer in your colortune description

Take your colortune - adjust out until you get the yellow then go lean (in) until the yellow goes away and you get a nice blue. Then ride it for a while and check your plugs - tweak until you get the nice tan. When tweaking turn the screws a degree or two then ride and recheck
