    Hi all,
I am the owner of an 83 Maxim 750 that I've modded quite a bit, so when I saw someone selling an 81 Maxim 650 with a bobbed frame I thought... this will be easy! Well, needless to say this thing is going to require a TON of work to get going again, which is why I am asking for a little help. (and in ways to stay on a modest budget)
    Mostly... wires!
As you can see all of the wires are pulled and it did come with the majority of the wires in a box, but I get the sense they were just cut and thrown in a box. I generally understand the wiring on a bike, and thought I could just mirror my 83 Maxim, but I think this loom is in pretty rough shape.... so I found someone selling an entire loom for a working '81 650 for $85. Should I buy this loom and just update what is needed or should I start from scratch and new everything? (still very much on a budget of course... the wife will kill me if I go to crazy with this)

If I do the wiring all myself, outside of the guage does it matter what kind of wires?

Thanks in advance for the help!
