I need new gages for my 81 xj750. I found some off a maxim 650 and was wondering if anyone knew if they would work with a little effort.
    Thanks for your help

They can be adapted. One of our members posted a conversion earlier this week. Do a search for it.
On another note, what is wrong with your original gauges? Broken, slow, beat to pieces?

Other bike gauges will work on a 750 Seca if the tach is electric and the speedometer is cable driven. The Maxim gauges will work on yours. Do a search on Ebay if you can't find any here. There is a bunch of gauges up for bids right now.

I posted something on here earlier this week. The problem with using maxim gauges is you either have to relocate the computer or bypass all the stuff in it. I am planning on bypassing the computer, I'll write up about it once I do it but I'm busy working on a tank and seat right now.

Best look for a set off of an 82 or later Max, they will be set up for the electronic tach.
