Did you just get this bike?

You'll need to clean the carbs, bench synch them and then get a running sync.

After you have checked the valve clearances.

Also be sure to check the brakes for delamination and age on the lines. Check the tires for age as well.

A strip of index card is slid under the throttle blade from the engine side of the carbs and the sync screws (3) between the carbs are turned until the card just drags out from under the throttle blade.

Also, if you add your location info to your profile there may be someone close by to lend a hand if you need it.

No. The throttle blade is the round disk inside the throat of the carbs that opens and closes with the throttle.

However, if you have not checked your valves all your tuning and adjustment will be for not.

These bikes will not run properly if you shortcut the process.

Do you think that's why those other two cylinders are weaker than the others and
What is the clearance for the valves if by chance u know off the top of your head

Hey, just a word of experience here (iwingameover had to ride up and bail me out) don't worry about the carbs until the valves are in spec first.

Also, you've probably seen this all over the site, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - before you ride: check the date codes on the tires and front brake lines, pull the rear wheel and check the brake drum for delamination, check your petcock for leaks, check front brakes for operation, and change the oil + filter

PS the "throttle blades" are also referred to as "butterflies" often too

Use a grease gun on the bleeder nipple to extricate the caliper piston. You will need a solid metric bolt to block off the union hole and some paper towels to clean out all the grease, but it should slide it right out of there for ya.

Or reattach your brake line, caliper off and pads out and use the master cylinder to push it out with brake fluid. Either way DO NOT put your fingers in the pistons path. When it comes loose it comes loose quick.
