So all of you wonderful XJ owners out there in Minneapolis. I have a bike requiring a new head and no good place to work on it. Come this spring I am hoping to replace this head. So if anybody has time and a garage to assist me with this task I would be very appreciative. Oh do you like beer? I am a professinal brewer and work currently at Surly brewing.

Dang! Free beer to work on a motorcycle! That's like heaven right there! If I lived in 'Sota I would open my garage up and we could start before Xmas, sadly I am way too far away. I'll bet that's good beer too eh? I am really bored with the big breweries stuff, if your going to drink beer it might as well be quality and tasty.

Sorry Brewer, I left Minnesota while the gittin' was good, now reside in warm and sunny Las Vegas Nevada. I lived in MPLS for 6 years, bought my bike in the little hamlet of Stacey, found a freeze crack in the frame, now I've stripped the frame so I can get it welded. Minnesota's nice place to visit, but I don't want to live there any more. So what's wrong with the head? there are some good replacement heads on Ebay.

I broke off an exhaust stud and destroyed the head while trying to remove it. So I am replacing it now because I didn't want to take it off to remove the stud. Huh, impatient yes. Have a head just a good place to work on it. I have access to a garage with no light, rather not do it in a driveway like my old Kawasaki head replacement (read above but it was an intake side).

Those little studs and bolts can be a royal pain, I find that if I soak 'em down with a good penetrating oil I don't have much trouble.
