I sent chacal a PM about this but maybe someone else out there knows the answer, I have an 82 XJ750RJ. I too had the dreaded misfortune of finding a disintegrated wavy washer and spacer in one of my fork tubes during a fork rebuild and reseal, the wavy washer is 0,15mm thick and my spacer is 0.21mm thick, since we can’t get those parts anymore and the likelihood of finding these parts on the shelf at the local hardware store is unlikely, could a person with a machine shop make a single spacer 0.36mm thick to replace them or does the wavy washer actually stay wavy after the socket head bolt on the bottom of the outer tube has been torqued down.

The wavy washer stays wavy and exert a force (of unknown magnitude) on the tapered "washer" which is really an oil flow control "valve"......the bolt at the bottom of the fork tube secures the DAMPER ROD in place; the washers and that tapered washer/valve are free to slide up and down the smaller OD portion of the damper rod shaft...........

thanks chacal, I have been searching google for wavy washers and found one link so far http://www.internationalsprings.com/wav ... ashers.htm if I had the size of the washer and spacer ID OD and thickness (I only have a guess as the fork leg with the good ones was all together before I found the others were waisted). I would contact these guys through my school and ask for some for the engineering department to see if and how many of these I could get at an ed discount. all extras if any could find their way to you to share with others with similar problems.
