This is my other bike that has a blown head gasket and gummed carbs. (Among other things.)

I can get the complete gasket kit for about $100 so that shouldn't be an issue and I'm mechanically inclined enough to take the engine apart. (I'm going to have to crack the casing due to an oil leak down the middle.)

I don't know where I'm going to find carb kits for that thing yet. Probably E-Bay.

I'm just wondering if anybody knows anything in particular I should look out for when I do the rebuild?

The bike has been sitting for a long time and didn't run right when I first got it anyway. Going to have to rebuild the calipers almost certainly.

Geeze....I just realized how much there is to do on that bike...

Check out The GS Resources for any and all things GS. Like XJ Bikes for GS's, or vice versa, depending on your viewpoint. I have owned 2 GS Suzukis, and loved them both. Your bike is certainly well worth doing up right!
