82 xj550 running rich

    so my carbs are sync'd theyre clean havnet had a chance to get a new air filter or new plugs yet but it seems like its still running rich any ideas ?

    Dirty or clogged air filter?

    Ever adjusted the idle fuel mixtures?

    Float heights properly set?

    A dirty air filter can cause a rich condition, as can fuel levels that are set too high.
