Can anyone tell me the thickness of new clutch friction discs for the XJ650J? Working on a slippage problem.

A lot of times the old clutch, even though not worn down, won't do the job anymore.

The little friction pads dry out and get crumbly; then when put back in service don't hold up to the task.

Quick, easy, inexpensive fix, as long as your plain plates aren't worn out or burnt blue: New friction plates and springs, and clean up the original plain plates with Scotchbrite. The "aftermarket" plates chacal sells perform every bit as good as the OEM; I would recommend OE springs though.
