I have a slight leak coming from the lowest bolt (3-bolt) alternator cover on the LH side of the bike..seems to be oily where the recess (dip) above shifter housing cover...

Was wondering...I have read on www. ....

    That upon extraction of components under here...rotor etc....there should be an oil seal S-type (32mm x 45mm x 6.5 2H7) per Yamaha.. I bought an aftermarket (32 x 45 x 7mm...double lipped - SD type)..

    1) Is there an oil seal concealed/need replacement behind there
    2) any other o-rings (oil sprayer).., seals etc... in the vicinity
    3) will the oil seal (aformentioned above) work being DOUBLE lipped!!
    4) advice on sealing alternator cover gasket..sealant, MOTOSEAL, rtv....etc..Will oversealing prevent excess oil from bleeding out thus flooding and affecting electrical pickups...Not sure about vent holes there?

Want to have all parts prior to dismantling... Location seems off for an oil seal...Cant find any reference or Yamaha diagram re: this area

Advice on a) rotor extraction/contraption tools b) prying of old oil seal??
    c) any advice for that area

Could oil be coming from another area?? Perhaps..another topic...

    Much appreciated... A

Check also The drive shaft seal. Cause that is where I got my weep age. That was after I replaced both side cover gaskets. Now I have no leaks.
