'82 xj750j noob here, got a question for all ye learned!

    I have recently aquired a good running '82 xj750 maxim. It has 37k on the clock and I have been slowly going through it bringing it back to it's former glory. That being said, the H plenum of the exhaust gave up the ghost today! I have found an '82 xj650 maxim in decent condition for $400 bucks and I was considering buying it for parts. My question is, what would be I tercha geable and would it be worth the money? Specifically the exhaust? It looks like the 650 doesn't have the H section? Is that right? Does it have to be there on the 750? I'd like to avoid a rejet it possible so I'm looking for an OEM setup for replacement. Help a brotha out!
