    During disassembly of the front fork I dropped the damper rod assembly and missed how the pieces fit together.
    Anyone know where I can get a detailed assembly drawing or photo (maybe somewhere on the site?) of the front fork innards? I have a bunch of small parts that are not illustrated in the factory manual near the bottom of the damping rod. Specifically, a couple of small, very thin steel washer pieces. It looks like they belong between the end of the rod and the tapered aluminum plug on the end of the damping rod. I'd like to get it right the first time. A picture or detailed drawing would be very helpful.
    Thanks, in advance, for any help you can offer.

    Thanks for tip. I checked that one and it seems I have a few extra parts on the bottom end of part 5 including the two thin washes and a tapered aluminum cone with a hole in the center where the damper rod retaining bolt passes through. I think the service manual calls it a damping rod and rebound spring and the Yamaha fich calls it a cylinder comp. So much for consistency. Maybe I have to post a photo or two to fully show my dilemma. The service manual has a similar drawing (with different nomenclature, of course) that seems to need a little more detail than is given.

    I know there are a few different configurations. A picture or two may help in figuring it out.

    I think you missed them. I looked 3 times to find them.

    They are shown above the outer fork tube because they are installed below the inner fork tube. They are part of the anti-dive unit. Look at part number 15-53 on the right side of the illustration. I think you will find them there.

    Oh, just to be sure, your model is XJ650RK.

    Thanks for the reply MiCarl,
    I have an '83 750 seca, but I think the fork assembly is conceptually the same as the 650, if not exactly the same. I looked at that assembly you noted and, because of the lack of detail (it's a line drawing, after all) couldn't tell how thick they were. Mine are thin enough to bend with your thumb and forefinger, easily (maybe .003" -.005?). So that whole assembly (15-5) fits on the end of the damper rod? I guess I can see that in the drawing now.
    I was also lacking a washer under the clip holding the fork seal in place. I had a wide, washer type circlip that was a bugger to remove even with a circlip pliers. I'm thinking I need a washer under the wire type clips I got to replace the existing ones. Or I could put the old clips back in. Ugh! Trouble is, I'd have to order the washers. Oh well. What do you think?

    Actually, the 750 Seca forks are in a world of their own, lots of extra fiddly bits from all the other forks (besides the 900RK) because of the anti-dive units. Conceptually, yes, they're the same as others since they perform the same function, but you really need the diagram for the 750 Seca forks, which you can find by manuevering thru the choices on the LINK that MiCarl posted further above.

    LOWER (OUTER) FORK TUBE PARTS:

    Dust Wiper Seals:

    ft1) OEM and aftermarket lower fork tube Dust Wiper Seals will stop grit and moisture from entering the lower tube cavity and chewing up the oil seals. These dust wiper seals are the things you see at the very top of the lower fork tube.

    HCP1839 OEM lower fork tube DUST WIPER SEAL, fits either left or right tube on the following models: all XJ750 Seca models. . One seal does one tube. Each:
    $ 16.00

    HCP1839SET2 OEM lower fork tube DUST WIPER SEALS, one pair does both forks.
    $ 29.00

    Oil Seals:

    ft1) OEM and aftermarket lower fork tube Oil Seals will stop those leaks and restore the performance to your front suspension and braking system. Wo offer three different grades of seals to satisfy everyone's needs:

    a) OEM original equipment double-lip rubber seals provide the same quality and life expectancy as the originals. Although these are not the least expensive seals, no one ever went wrong with using original manufacturer products. Oil seals come with the internal tension spring when they were originally equipped as such.

    b) Standard grade aftermarket double-lip BLACK OIL SEALS are the same or better quality than the OEM seals, but normally at a better price.

    ALSO---it's never a bad idea to use some of the 100% Silicone Grease as an "assembly lube" when installing any of these oil seals:

    HCP1714 o-ring installation pure Silicone Grease:
    $ 6.00

    HCP1818 OEM lower fork tube OEM OIL SEALS, fits either left or right tube on the following models: all XJ750 Seca models. One seal does one tube. Each:

    $ 24.00

    HCP1720 Aftermarket standard quality lower fork tube BLACK OIL SEALS, fits all of the following models: all XJ750 Seca models. Comes packaged as a pair of seals, enough to do both forks.
    $ 17.00

    HCP1829 OEM lower fork tube OIL SEAL RETAINING CLIP, fits either left or right tube on the following models: XJ750 Seca models. One clip does one tube. Highly recommended that these be replaced when replacing your oil seals! Each:
