    Hi folks.
My father has kept the original silver saddle bags, hardware, mounts, wires etc. However, like a lot of other folks here, the plastic mounts broke on the bottom, where it bolts to the angle on the bike. I'm thinking of ways to repair them with aluminum angle and good epoxy. My question though, has anyone remade these before out of aluminum or 14 gauge steel? Any insight is appreciated.

Mine broke on one side , I repaired it with plate steel strip and bonded it on with JB weld .
