    been hearing a valve tap on my left side.took of the valve cover ,and checked out the lobes on the cam ,,it turned out to be a worn exhaust lobe.on # 2 .. my question is can i just swop out that lobe or do i have to by a new cam? is this going to be a pain in the #%$%

    You will either have to have the Camshaft's Lobe repaired ... or, find a new Exhaust Cam and use that.

    There are plenty of places that will repair your Camshaft. You'll have to have the Cam removed and ship the Cam to them with the Data from the Camshaft configuration from the Technical Pages of the Workshop Manual.

    Essentially, they weld-on new material and grind it to the specs.

    Some Camshaft places will let you send-in both Cams and re-configure the Lift and Duration for different "Curves" like: Full-race, Half-race, Quarter-race and other grinds for Mid-range and Cruising.
