After accumulating 3 of these magnificent bikes and a spare motor, I've begun working on making one bike that is as good as I can make.

It seems that one of the '82s is destined to be my rider. The other '82 and the '83 will live for parts. At least for the time being.

With that being said, I've begun to swap parts. So far, I've gotten the best set of plastics assembled as well as things like mirrors, controls etc.

    So far, so good.

Last night I took the '83 tank (5.2 gal) and put it on the good bike. It didn't fit as well as I'd hoped, but I did manage to get it on the bike and it seems to be working.

The '82 does have the power up kit installed.

My question is, aside from cosmetic things, are there any other parts I should consider swapping.

I know that the '83 forks are a mm bigger and I suspect that's more important than it sounds. However, the '82 came with a really nice brace that probably wouldn't fit on the '83 forks. Can't decide if braced '82 forks are better than non braced '83 forks. Thoughts?

Any other parts that anyone knows to be better on an '83 than an '82?

    Thanks as always,

    Greg
