Hi I just bought a 85 maximX 700 with 27000 miles. I was wondering what oil I should run in it. Can I use Castrol 20w50 gtx or should I use something else?

That'll work fine. I've used a quart of 20w-50 Aviation oil in mine (because I had a quart on hand...) but I bought some Castrol 4 stroke 20-50 motorcycle oil at Walmart to do my oil change. Its as good as anything besides full syntghetic, but if you change oil and filter regularly I don't think synthetic is worth the extrat $$$.

Everyone seems to have their preferred oil, but as kontiki mentioned you cant go wrong with the Catrol 20w50. Just stay away from oil additives, as they can play havoc with the wet clutch systems on our bikes.
