    Gents and ladies,

I am trying to find a database that lists the fork spacing for as many bikes as I can. I have a database of which bikes use various size tubes but so far can find nothing which lists the actual spacing.

If anyone has any ideas or actual info, please list it. I of course will make the information available to all when i've completed the project.

    Thanks,
    jeff

i don't understand the question, the distance between the tubes would only be part of it for the upper triple tree, you'd still need the offset to the stem. if that's what your looking for. almost like what top clamps are interchangeable

    Ok, we'll try this again....AHEM-hem-hem.....

I was kinda wondering something along the same line, but not for the triple trees.

Why I would like to know the spacing would be to see which front trim pieces would be cross-compatible to other XJs.

Example: Would a 650 Midnight Maxim front badge fit a 650 Seca fork

To answer your question simply. No! The 650 Midnight Maxim uses a badge that attaches to the turnsignal ears on the front. Yours attaches to the lower tree on the side.
Maybe something like the 700 Maxim, or Virago might work for you though. Once again it will be a matter of spacing as those bikes use larger diameter forks.

I assume you are looking for the fork tube center to center measurement.

I have been trying to locate info like this for a while with no luck. The cafe, and street fighter crowds do not have any list for fork spacing. Only Fork diameter, and axle shaft diameter. The most complete list I have found is on Scandalon in the link on my Wire wheel post.

The street fighter crowd would be your best bet to try to assemble this info. They are big into fork swaps, and might be able to get the measurements for you. Some of it is just going to be trial, and error test fitting.

Another option would be the chopper, or flat track crowd, and triple tree builders, as they need to use that info when they build custom triple trees.
Which is were I am stuck at on my chopper project. Trying to locate someone to build me a custom triple tree to my specs.

EXACTLY.....that's what I'm looking for. I already have a listing of a ton of bikes' fork tube SIZE but now need the CTC measurement between the tubes.

If anyone has this of knows where I can find it, please be my hero and let me know!!

P.S.-it has nothing to do with retrofitting different front ends but has everything to do with fork braces and which models they will fit!!

I have the top tree from an '82 750 Maxim on my '82 750 Seca, so I could mount risers and conventional 7/8" handlebars. Perfect fit.
I assume other models are the same also.
