    Hello,

    1) What size is the front axle nut? I want to rebuild my forks but don't have the right socket size. I know 19mm in the back but that's too small for the front.

    2) Any way I can examine my bike and find out if it is specifically a 650 G, H, LH, J, or RJ?

    3) Any advice for using 10W/30 motor oil in the forks? I was surprised to see it was in the service manual - of course, I am a noob.

    Regards

No help for you here on the nut size.

An 81 XJ 650 Maxim is an XJ650H.

The manual says you can use 10W30 motor oil or 10W fork oil. I doubt you'd notice any difference either way.
