A silly thing, but it works....

    If you look at my old XJ650 in the profile pics, you'll notice my plug wire caps are yellow.

    Why? Because I just liked it. :lol:

    I took them off, cleaned them up with dish soap and rubbed with alcohol, dried, then sprayed with conventional cheap engine paint.

    Ok, it's dumb. But as I said, I liked it.

    HOWEVER....it did prove to be valuable in one unforeseen way.

    When I started to think I was detecting the beginnings of another intake gasket sucking air, before it even got really profound enough to make it idle bad, the paint blistered and peeled off that cyl's cap from the higher cylinder temp...leaving no doubt, at a glance, who was running lean.

    Sacrificial diagnostic paint LOL...

    NOT highly recommended. Creative, though.

    OK I just painted the caps on the new Max. All is well with the universe, and it's officially my bike now. :)
