Hello I'm sillydilly, also known as dylan. I'm 17 and recently upgraded to my second vehicle... First one being a 2005 Yamaha BWS/Zuma scooter to get around town.

Novelty from that has worn off, and not being too crazy about driving (Don't have driver license yet) I decided to go for bike license first. I needed an incentive though, so an afternoon of surfing Kijiji for a nice old cheap bike to begin with, I had about 4 or 5 in mind. Prices ranged from $1000-$2500 but an XJ caught my eye. A few emails and 4 days later I met up with the guy and paid him $1400 cash for it.

I illegally rode it, to this date putting on ~400km without a license and I love it. I can't wait for spring to legalize myself and get out on the road. I had just bought a set of saddlebags and being doing oddjobs on it.

After visiting these forums and reading all the fun stuff you guys do, I just can't help myself. I've began taking my bike apart and rebuilding it just so I get a general idea of how it works. A few paint touch ups here and there.

I got the link to www.jafrum.com where I picked up the saddlebags, took a lot of tweaking and adjusting before I had them the way I liked them. I hadn't use the rack before but I put it on to kind of fit with the saddlebags. I ran into various problems; loose fit on the bike, no passenger room, had to remove blinkers, to close to exhaust... But now I think they're finally on to stay... Only problem is I can no longer remove the seat to get to my insurance, so I need a new spot for that :p

Anyways, again from this forum I stumbled across these Bullet Blinkers from one of the chopper mods. After accumulating enough money, I'm left to find they only accept credit card, which I proudly lack. A quick trip to eBay and I found these knock-off signal lights which Im just as happy with. I even got him to throw in 4 additional blue lenses for like 8 bucks. Paid the other day, can't wait for them to arrive.

Anyways, thats my little introduction and I look forward to becoming part of this community.

    Ride on :p

Welcome aboard Dylan. Even though I've only had mine since April, I have to agree, these are great bikes.

Good like making your bike your own. I'm planning to do the same this winter.

don't want to harp like your parents, but you riding this cyle illegally is something you might want to reconsider, you are only 17 with your whole life ahead of you, last thing you want is being in an accident w/o insurance and licence, you will be sued so bad that it will effect you and your family for the rest of your life.
Just a friendly advice from someone that cares about you.

A little town in southern Alberta

Ahh, I never really thought of that mate. It's pretty much put away for the winter anyway, but of course when you buy a bike you GOTTA test it out right? :)

Bike license first thing spring :D

Nice Maxim! Gotta question though...were your rear turn signals removed to fit the saddle bags?

Never considered the saddlebags being interfered with by the turn signals. I was looking at a set similar to yours. I knew that the exhaust upswing would be something, but my sportster mufflers aren't at that high of an angle as your 4 into 1.

    Good looking bike. :)

Thanks! And yes, I removed the rear signal lights and have new ones on the way, I'll show you how I mount them when they get here :)
