My clutch lever has way too much tension on it, how do I resolve this? Also, how much torque do the bolts on the head need to have?...I have a slow oil leak and don't want to blow a hole in it.

Not sure which bolts you are talking about but the cylinder head bolts are 23.1 ftlbs and the cylinder head cover, (valve cover) bolts are 7.2 ftlbs. If it is the cylinder head or valve cover it most likely isn't the bolts. These are notorious for leaking and some RTV is the best way I have found to remedy the problem.
On the choke there is an adjustment at the lever and at the clutch hub outside the case cover. At the lever remove the rubber boot where the cable attaches to the lever and you will find a large round lock nut with a smaller hollow bolt that the cable goes into. Loosen the large round lock nut and thread the smaller bolt in until you get the right tension. Threading in will relieve tension while threading out will increase.
If this doesn't do it then at the clutch hub and above it which is at the other end of the clutch cable is another adjustment. It works the same way. Threading out from the clutch hub will add tension while threading in will lessen.

Thanks for the pointers. What is "RTV"?

RTV which stands for "Room Temperature Vulcanization" is a gasket sealant and gasket making product. Permatex makes "Ultra Black" which has a high temp of 700F and high oil resistance and is black. There is an orange/red one that is easier to apply but I hate the butt ugly red line it leaves on my engine, but it works very well. Any high temp RTV will work however. Yamaha makes one that everybody uses called Yamabond. The Permatex stuff is available at any auto parts store.

er - I think BlueMaxim answered the question correctly - if the question was asked in the way it sounded...

What I mean is - BlueMaxim described how to tension/loosen the cable. This makes the cable longer and shorter (to properly adjust the point at which the clutch is activated)

I wonder if the question wasn't more to do with the clutch being hard to use, and not so much about the clutch cable tension?

IF that were the case, then I'd suggest lubing your cables... they feel a million times lighter (and easier to control) when they're clean and moving smoothly.

See what happens when you have two beers after a hard day and then try to type! The above should read:
    1. If it is the cylinder head "cover" or valve cover
    2. On the "clutch" there is an adjustment at the lever
I think I will switch to coke next time type an instruction. BTW I have not had a beer for 3 hours now and am drinking Coke Zero now! Sorry to the confusion guys.
