does anyone know if there are aftermarket carb joints from the carb to the engine available? The local yamaha dealer wants $275 for the set! Is this a normal price or not? :?

Check with Chacal at XJ4ever. He has them for a fair price right here on the site. He is the supporting vender. Click on the logo at the right side of the header bar.

I paid $57 for one carb joint, then when visiting a local bike wrecker yard looking for a foot peg for my 750 seca, I mentioned the high price for stock parts, in particularly the carb joints. The operator told me he could have ordered a set of 4 'aftermarket' joints for about $120.

I found some universals on bike bandit.com but they don't have the bends in them like my factory Seca 750s do. I myself wondered if there was an aftermarket solution as the Yamaha shop will straight up r@pe you if you buy OEM replacements from them. Mine have signs of cracking and in general are just ugly, I'd like to replace them at some point in the near future.

Everything I have seen as far as carb to engine boots are around $60 a piece. The carb to airbox boots are much cheaper.

So which ones are we discussing here? Engine to carb or carb to airbox?

Aftermarket inlet rubbers are £100 a set of 4 in the UK - which I am guessing is about $150?

For airbox to carbs on many different bikes and sometimes these work for carb to engine joints if the engine has spiqots....is Fernco Couplings...google it...they are a very heavy duty rubber plumbing coupling that comes in various diameters...and run about 4 bucks apiece...cut to suit.
